SINEMA NAMED TO HOUSING SUBCOMITTEE, HIGHLIGHTS ARIZONA’S FORECLOSURE CRISIS

-

WASHINGTON, D.C. – January 17, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — The office of Congresswoman Maxine Waters, ranking Democrat on the House Committee on Financial Services, has announced the subcommittee assignments for Democrats on the Committee. Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema was named to the subcommittees on “Insurance, Housing and Community Opportunity” as well as “Investigation and Oversight”.

Sinema was named to the House Committee on Financial Services last month. The Committee, which oversees agencies pertaining to the economy, is largely comprised of more senior members. Sinema’s being named to the Committee is a rare distinction for freshman members.

“This is an important and unique opportunity to serve Arizona and our country,” said Sinema. Unfortunately, Arizona leads in our nation’s foreclosure crisis and in the number of homes that are upside down in equity. I’m anxious to get to solutions and I’m ready to bring the stories of our families and neighbors who are dealing with this crisis at home.”
