September 3, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- Abla Zumot Najjar was recognized today as the first Phoenix homebuyer to purchase a foreclosed single family home through the city of Phoenix Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) Homeownership Assistance. She used a $15,000 loan from the program for down payment and closing cost assistance.

August 25, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) -- The Phoenix Public Transit Department announced it was awarded $88.8 million in American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds for projects in the Phoenix/Mesa urbanized area. The portion of these funds dedicated to city of Phoenix projects totals more than $29.1 million in improvements to its transit system and infrastructure, including $3.9 million for METRO light rail improvements in Phoenix. Also, as the region’s federal grant recipient for the Phoenix/Mesa urbanized area, the city of Phoenix was awarded additional funds to disburse to grant sub-recipients.

May 7, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — The city of Phoenix Neighborhood Service Department is offering grants to improve the energy efficiency of low-income households, through the U.S. Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program. A household of four can earn up to $44,100 annually, and qualify for the program.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - February 03, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — Congressman Raúl M. Grijalva announced today that more than $12 million in Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) grants have been awarded to fund three projects in Pima and Maricopa counties.

PHOENIX – The Arizona Department of Housing has announced that it has received $683,060 to support the continuation of the state’s foreclosure prevention counseling efforts. The much -needed boost will enable an existing network of 13 community -based organizations across Arizona to provide continued assistance to homeowners in danger of foreclosure.

PHOENIX – U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Alphonso Jackson today awarded the City of Phoenix Housing Department nearly $8.9 million to support the redevelopment of A.L. Krohn Homes public housing complex into an attractive mixed-income community

Tucson, AZ – Rep. Raul M. Grijalva, along with the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco (FHLBank San Francisco), announced today that more than $4.7 million in Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grants have been awarded to housing projects throughout Yuma, Pima and Maricopa counties, funding nine projects expected to generate 432 new affordable housing units.
