U.S. Congressman Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) released the following statement after a House Appropriations Subcommittee approved the fiscal year 2016 Interior, Environment and Related Agencies Appropriations bill, which included Congressman Gosar’s language request prohibiting the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) from using any appropriated funds for the proposed “Waters of the United States (WOTUS)” rule
Boozman, Cardin Hail Senate Passage of the Water Resources Research Amendments Act
U.S. Senators John Boozman (R-AR) and Ben Cardin (D-MD), both members of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee (EPW), welcomed Senate passage of their bill, (S. 653) to reauthorize federal grant funding for water resources research institutes in all 50 states plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Water Resources Research Amendments Act (WRRA) provides continued federal support for important research on state and regional water challenges.
Flake, McCain Introduce Bill to Rewrite EPA’s Flawed Water Rule
U.S. Sens. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.) today introduced S. 1178, the Defending Rivers from Overreaching Policies (DROP) Act, which would ensure a timely and impartial scientific analysis of the “waters of the U.S.” jurisdiction under the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean Water Act. U.S. Sen. Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) is also a sponsor.
