RE/MAX New Heights Realty Named IMPACT Business of the Year

Phoenix, AZ – May 19, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — RE/MAX New Heights Realty was recently named 2010 IMPACT Business of the Year in Arizona by the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce.  This marks the first time in the 23-year history of the award that a Latino-run business has received the honor.

CEO of RE/MAX New Heights Realty, Victor Vidales opened the office five years ago and has built the franchise into one of the most prominent real estate offices in the state.  Vidales accepted the award in front of 450 attendees of the 23rd annual awards luncheon at The Phoenician.

“It was definitely overwhelming to be here five years after opening our business, especially as difficult as the last three years have been,” Vidales said after accepting the award.  “It’s been very tough, but I’ve been blessed with good people and a great wife.  To be the first Latino company to receive the award in its 23-year history is amazing.

“I have a great vision for my town and my city.  I believe it’s one of the greatest places to live in all of Phoenix and all of Arizona.  If I can do it, anyone can do it.  I think I’m living proof that you don’t have to come from great families or great beginnings, but if you work hard, learn every day and do your best, only you hold yourself from being great.  I hope I can help other people believe that they can find that greatness within them.”

The criteria considered for the awards included innovation, company culture, community involvement and how the business responded to adversity.  Starting with over 3,100 Business Members, the list was then reduced to 10 finalists who best fit the criteria.  RE/MAX New Heights Realty not only fulfilled the requirements of the award but excelled in its community involvement, company culture, innovation and response to adversity.  This year’s winner continues the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce’s long standing tradition of honoring the spirit of small business entrepreneurs.

Vidales, who grew up in the south Phoenix neighborhoods, has been committed to improving the lives of those in the area by sparking residential and commercial investments despite negative pressures in the market.  Vidales is also Chair of Audubon Arizona’s Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center Stewardship and Education committee.  In addition to serving on the National Audubon Society board, Vidales is also a board member for Arizona State University’s College of Public Programs.

“RE/MAX New Heights Realty, led by Victor Vidales, is an outstanding example of how drive and dedication can far surpass the challenges of any market and truly make a difference in the community,” said Chip Brekken, Regional Vice President, RE/MAX Southwest. “We’re very proud of Victor and his team and are privileged to have him as a part of our RE/MAX network.”
