Support Grows to Defund HUD Racial Housing Quotas

Today, U.S. Congressman Paul A. Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-04) released the following statement after Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) announced his plans to introduce a companion amendment that would prohibit the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) from implementing its proposed Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Rule.

2nd Kirkpatrick bill signed into law this session

On Saturday, the president signed into a law a bill introduced by U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., to correct a decades-old land-survey error that placed private properties inside the boundaries of U.S. Forest Service property. This is Kirkpatrick’s second piece of legislation to become law in the 113th Congress. At the end of 2013, her VA backlog legislation became law as an amendment to the Defense reauthorization bill.

Attorney General Tom Horne Awards Job Training Grants From National Mortgage Settlement Funds

Attorney General Tom Horne today announced the award of over $600,000 to fund job training and employment search services programs for individuals impacted by foreclosure. These programs are funded by the national mortgage settlement reached with the nation’s five largest mortgage loan servicers (Ally/GMAC, Bank of America, Citi, JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo). Kirkpatrick fights for rural counties, introduces bill to permanently fund critical PILT program
