Kirkpatrick announces $700K in grants for NAU, San Carlos Apache Tribe

WASHINGTON – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., is pleased to announce two important grants for Congressional District One – a continuing research grant for Northern Arizona University and a transportation grant for the San Carlos Apache Tribe.

“I’m pleased that these resources are headed to NAU and the San Carlos Apache Tribe,” Kirkpatrick said. “As we work to build a diverse, stable economy across Arizona, we must embrace innovation and invest in infrastructure. Grants like these can help move our state forward.”

Details:

Northern Arizona University was awarded $601,895 from the National Science Foundation to continue funding NAU’s work on an unmanned aerial radio tracking system for monitoring small wildlife species. More info here.

The San Carlos Apache Tribe was awarded $100,166 from the U.S. Department of Transportation to install 15 airfield guidance signs at the San Carlos Apache Airport to enhance aircraft visual guidance and safety. More info here.
