September 4, 2008 – (RealEstateRama) — Learn about fair housing practices and laws at a free two-hour workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at Phoenix City Hall, assembly room A, 200 W. Washington St.
A three-hour workshop also will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Burton Barr Central Library, 1221 N. Central Ave., meeting room A. This workshop will offer ADRE-authorized fair housing REALTOR® re-licensing credit.
Sponsored by the city of Phoenix Equal Opportunity Department, the workshops will explain housing discrimination investigations from the experts who conduct them. Fair housing practices apply to apartments, houses, condominiums and mobile home parks.
It is illegal for housing providers to discriminate against tenants, rental applicants or customers on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability or familial status.
