CITY TO OPEN WAITLISTS FOR SUBSIDIZED HOUSING PROGRAMS

WASHINGTON, D.C. – June 5, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The City of Tucson’s Department of Housing and Community Development is preparing to open the waitlists for three subsidized housing programs.

Beginning on June 15 at 10 a.m., the City will accept waitlist applications for public housing units at Silverbell Homes, Martin Luther King Apartments, and Lander Gardens. These properties are managed by the City of Tucson.

Also beginning on June 15 at 10 a.m., the City will accept waitlist applications for Moderate Rehab housing. The moderate rehabilitation program provides project-based rental assistance for low-income families. The units are privately owned and available at Bel Air Apartments, Coronado Apartments, Flores Apartments, and Miracle Square Apartments.

Waitlist applications for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program will be open starting on July 1 at 10 a.m. Section 8 is a federal housing assistance program for low-income individuals administered by the City of Tucson.

All applications must be completed online through the application portal. A training session for portal applications will be held on Thursday, June 11, beginning at 3 p.m. at 320 N. Commerce Park Loop, in the Pantano and Santa Cruz rooms.
