Grijalva Congratulates Tohono O’odham on $7M in Grant Awards

TUCSON – February 19, 2016 – (RealEstateRama) — Congressman Raúl M. Grijalva (D-AZ) released the following statement congratulating the Tohono O’odham tribe for receiving two grants totaling more than $7 million dollars. On Friday, the T.O. received $2,750,000 million in the Indian Community Development Block Grant. Today, they received an addition $4,459,588 in Indian Housing Block Grant funding.

“I’m thrilled to hear that the Tohono O’odham is receiving these tremendous awards,” Rep. Grijalva said. “The T.O. will be matching the funds they received on Friday with an additional $2.75 million to build 15 new homes. All of the funds will contribute to a viable living environment for people who are truly deserving and in need. I thank Secretary Castro for his consideration in awarding this grant, and congratulate my brothers and sisters from the Tohono O’odham tribe once again on this tremendous award.”
