Kirkpatrick announces $442,551 grant for Kayenta Airport

WASHINGTON, D.C. – July 24, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick, D-Ariz., is pleased to announced that the Kayenta Airport on the Navajo Nation will receive a $442,551 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The grant, disbursed by the Federal Aviation Administration, will fund the construction of a 1,440-square-foot snow removal equipment building. The building will extend the life of the airport’s equipment by protecting it from adverse weather conditions.

“I’m pleased that these resources are headed to Kayenta, where they will help improve the local airport’s operations,” Kirkpatrick said. “Every investment in our infrastructure is an investment in our local economy.”

Kirkpatrick, who serves on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, recently announced nearly $970,000 in grants for rural airports in Gila, Graham and Pinal counties as well as a $902,500 grant for the Page Municipal Airport.
